Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil and Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 3.62%, while the MICEX index lost 2.07%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 3.91% or 0.0500 points to trade at 1.3300 at the close. Meanwhile, MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 3.88% or 34.00 points to end at 910.00 and TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) was up 3.16% or 1.20 points to 39.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p), which fell 7.06% or 9180.0 points to trade at 120820.0 at the close. Mos obl sb (MCX:MSRS) declined 5.22% or 0.0650 points to end at 1.1800 and GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) was down 4.75% or 0.0274 points to 0.5498.
The top performers on the MICEX were NMTP (MCX:NMTP) which rose 3.91% to 1.3300, MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) which was up 3.88% to settle at 910.00 and TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) which gained 3.16% to close at 39.20.
The worst performers were Transneft (pref) (MCX:TRNF_p) which was down 7.06% to 120820.0 in late trade, Mos obl sb (MCX:MSRS) which lost 5.22% to settle at 1.1800 and GidroOGK-011D (MCX:HYDR) which was down 4.75% to 0.5498 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 69 to 59 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.69% or 8.30 to $1216.80 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.52% or 1.23 to hit $47.56 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 3.17% or 1.61 to trade at $49.34 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 2.54% to 61.803, while EUR/RUB rose 3.65% to 73.205.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 92.20.
