Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 1.75% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which rose 4.02% or 0.1555 points to trade at 4.0200 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 3.76% or 25.60 points to end at 706.70 and Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) was up 3.49% or 7.00 points to 207.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which fell 4.17% or 25.0 points to trade at 575.0 at the close. X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) declined 2.16% or 43.0 points to end at 1952.0 and Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) was down 1.67% or 1.36 points to 80.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 127 to 99 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.49% or 7.00 to 207.80.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.43% to 20.560.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.34% or 4.35 to $1272.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.16% or 0.10 to hit $63.11 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.09 to trade at $71.88 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.20% to 64.3998, while EUR/RUB fell 0.25% to 71.8706.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 97.887.
