Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 1.37%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 3.54% or 5.09 points to trade at 148.79 at the close. Meanwhile, MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) added 3.17% or 353.0 points to end at 11500.0 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 3.08% or 28.10 points to 941.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which fell 2.61% or 0.330 points to trade at 12.320 at the close. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 1.16% or 5.20 points to end at 441.30 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) was down 0.91% or 7.0 points to 759.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 142 to 74 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.52% to 23.150.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.32% or 4.20 to $1330.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.51% or 0.30 to hit $58.99 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.16 to trade at $62.43 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.08% to 57.7854, while EUR/RUB rose 0.48% to 71.4320.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 89.54.
