Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 5.90% or 3.50 points to trade at 62.82 at the close. Meanwhile, FSK EES (MCX:FEES) unchanged 4.27% or 0.00 points to end at 0.11 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 4.07% or 42.60 points to 1,089.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX), which fell 3.75% or 9.36 points to trade at 240.10 at the close. Bank VTB PAO (MCX:VTBR) unchanged 0.22% or 0.00 points to end at 0.02 and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM) was down 0.21% or 0.02 points to 7.03.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 181 to 59 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.90% or 3.50 to 62.82.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 8.02% to 25.73 a new 3-months high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.31% or 30.40 to $2,348.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.17% or 0.13 to hit $78.49 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.09 to trade at $82.66 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.93% to 89.58, while EUR/RUB rose 1.63% to 95.91.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 105.14.
