Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.95% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 4.39% or 19.50 points to trade at 463.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Surgutneftegaz PAO (MCX:SNGS) added 3.43% or 0.910 points to end at 27.450 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) was up 3.41% or 530.0 points to 16088.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which fell 3.21% or 19.0 points to trade at 573.6 at the close. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 2.52% or 1.55 points to end at 59.95 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was down 2.05% or 0.0900 points to 4.2900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 95 and 23 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.69% to 20.510.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.85 to $1532.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.63% or 1.49 to hit $55.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.25% or 1.36 to trade at $59.13 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.26% to 66.7473, while EUR/RUB fell 0.40% to 73.3175.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 98.795.
