Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP), which rose 4.00% or 4.85 points to trade at 126.25 at the close. Meanwhile, NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) added 3.43% or 37.60 points to end at 1,134.60 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 2.63% or 6.10 points to 238.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ozon Holdings PLC (MCX:OZONDR), which fell 1.78% or 76.50 points to trade at 4,228.50 at the close. TKS Holding MKPAO (MCX:TCSG) declined 1.75% or 52.50 points to end at 2,939.00 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was down 1.52% or 21.40 points to 1,383.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 149 to 96 and 8 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.56% to 23.94.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.30 to $2,338.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.25% or 0.21 to hit $83.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.07 to trade at $86.54 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 87.85, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 94.40.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 105.38.
