Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Unipro (MCX:UPRO), which rose 3.87% or 0.0990 points to trade at 2.6600 at the close. Meanwhile, Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) added 3.30% or 7.00 points to end at 219.00 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 2.22% or 2.00 points to 92.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which fell 1.86% or 8.00 points to trade at 422.80 at the close. Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) declined 1.81% or 45.40 points to end at 2461.60 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) was down 0.74% or 38.0 points to 5096.5.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 115 to 101 and 20 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.99% to 19.990.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.80% or 11.45 to $1412.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.63% or 0.35 to hit $56.23 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.37 to trade at $63.55 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.05% to 63.2590, while EUR/RUB fell 0.11% to 70.4150.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 97.602.
