Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 5.68% or 230.0 points to trade at 4280.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) added 5.32% or 35.0 points to end at 693.0 and X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) was up 2.24% or 38.5 points to 1758.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which fell 2.00% or 8.00 points to trade at 392.00 at the close. NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) declined 2.00% or 12.5 points to end at 612.5 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) was down 1.77% or 10.0 points to 555.5.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 113 to 94 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) fell to all time lows; losing 1.77% or 10.0 to 555.5.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.78% to 24.640.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.46% or 5.70 to $1226.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.61% or 0.42 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.54 to trade at $74.47 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.05% to 62.8529, while EUR/RUB fell 0.55% to 73.2875.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 94.41.
