Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which rose 3.61% or 1.710 points to trade at 49.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) added 2.80% or 20 points to end at 715 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 2.07% or 17.00 points to 838.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were VTB (MCX:VTBR), which fell 2.82% or 0.0014 points to trade at 0.0499 at the close. Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) declined 2.24% or 17.0 points to end at 743.0 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was down 2.03% or 9.50 points to 458.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 104 to 104 and 27 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.31% to 24.680.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.30 to $1301.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.54% or 1.05 to hit $67.16 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.37 to trade at $78.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.40% to 62.3275, while EUR/RUB rose 0.30% to 72.6550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.09.
