Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 1.15%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO), which rose 3.95% or 9.40 points to trade at 247.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot PJSC (MCX:AFLT) added 3.42% or 1.63 points to end at 49.30 and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) was up 3.04% or 0.25 points to 8.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL), which fell 0.16% or 0.05 points to trade at 28.81 at the close. GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 1,083.80 and T Tekhnologii MKPAO (MCX:TCSG) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 2,384.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 210 to 32 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL) fell to 3-years lows; falling 0.16% or 0.05 to 28.81. Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 2.05% to 46.40.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.08% or 55.49 to $2,606.51 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.90% or 0.63 to hit $69.45 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.34 to trade at $72.85 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.08% to 104.68, while EUR/RUB fell 1.12% to 108.49.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.13% at 107.86.
