Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.99% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which rose 7.64% or 1.760 points to trade at 24.800 at the close. Meanwhile, MVideo (MCX:MVID) added 3.66% or 12.60 points to end at 356.70 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 3.21% or 329.0 points to 10589.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which fell 1.14% or 10.5 points to trade at 908.0 at the close. MiMES Rostelekom OAO Pref (MCX:RTKM_p) declined 1.01% or 0.65 points to end at 63.40 and E.ON Rossiya OAO (MCX:UPRO) was down 0.62% or 0.0180 points to 2.8740.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 131 to 88 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in MVideo (MCX:MVID) rose to all time highs; rising 3.66% or 12.60 to 356.70.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.04% to 28.110.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.19% or 2.50 to $1343.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.89% or 1.42 to hit $47.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.91% or 1.48 to trade at $49.40 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.21% to 64.6799, while EUR/RUB rose 1.18% to 73.214.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.53.
