Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil and Gas, Telecom and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI rose 4.40%, while the MICEX index gained 2.42%.
The best performers of the session on the RTSI were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 6.81% or 0.0950 points to trade at 1.4900 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 6.10% or 18.35 points to end at 319.35 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was up 5.89% or 1.895 points to 34.095 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which fell 3.28% or 0.550 points to trade at 16.200 at the close. TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) declined 2.06% or 0.90 points to end at 42.80 and Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p) was down 1.88% or 24.0 points to 1256.0.
The top performers on the MICEX were NMTP (MCX:NMTP) which rose 6.81% to 1.4900, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) which was up 6.10% to settle at 319.35 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) which gained 5.89% to close at 34.095.
The worst performers were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) which was down 3.28% to 16.200 in late trade, TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) which lost 2.06% to settle at 42.80 and Bashneft ANK ap (pref) (MCX:BANE_p) which was down 1.88% to 1256.0 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 93 to 49 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.13% or 1.70 to $1262.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 6.71% or 3.25 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 6.08% or 3.29 to trade at $57.45 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 2.01% to 66.534, while EUR/RUB fell 1.41% to 76.076.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.63% at 93.98.
