Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil and Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the RTSI rose 0.28%, while the MICEX index climbed 1.92%.

The best performers of the session on the RTSI were Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA), which rose 11.95% or 19.00 points to trade at 178.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) added 6.40% or 2.490 points to end at 41.415 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was up 6.25% or 1.785 points to 30.340 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pharmstandard JSC (MCX:PHST), which fell 3.48% or 35.0 points to trade at 970.0 at the close. DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) declined 3.12% or 12.60 points to end at 391.30 and Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) was down 2.61% or 260.0 points to 9700.0.

The top performers on the MICEX were Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA) which rose 11.95% to 178.00, Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) which was up 6.40% to settle at 41.415 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) which gained 6.25% to close at 30.340.

The worst performers were Pharmstandard JSC (MCX:PHST) which was down 3.48% to 970.0 in late trade, DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) which lost 3.12% to settle at 391.30 and Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) which was down 2.61% to 9700.0 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 87 to 60 and 6 ended unchanged.

Gold for April delivery was up 1.22% or 15.60 to $1296.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 1.51% or 0.68 to hit $45.83 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.64 to trade at $48.80 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 1.52% to 66.890, while EUR/RUB fell 1.33% to 75.995.

The US Dollar Index was down 1.04% at 94.29.
