Investing.com – Indonesia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Industry, Financials and Infrastructure sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Jakarta, the IDX Composite Index rose 0.96% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the IDX Composite Index were Alakasa Industrindo Tbk (JK:ALKA), which rose 25.42% or 30 points to trade at 148 at the close. Meanwhile, Semen Baturaja Persero Tbk (JK:SMBR) added 23.91% or 165 points to end at 855 and Bank Qnb Indonesia Tbk (JK:BKSW) was up 23.78% or 78 points to 406 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mitra Komunikasi Nusantara Tbk PT (JK:MKNT), which fell 10.00% or 48 points to trade at 432 at the close. Cakra Mineral Tbk (JK:CKRA) declined 10.00% or 8 points to end at 72 and Rimau Multi Putra Pratama (JK:CMPP) was down 9.70% or 13 points to 121.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Jakarta Stock Exchange by 200 to 113 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semen Baturaja Persero Tbk (JK:SMBR) rose to all time highs; gaining 23.91% or 165 to 855.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.61% or 0.26 to $42.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.02% or 0.46 to hit $44.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1328.10 a troy ounce.
USD/IDR was down 0.26% to 13133.0, while AUD/IDR fell 0.56% to 9823.30.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 97.26.
