Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Electronic Equipment, Aerospace & Defense and Oil & Gas Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.24%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which rose 1.32% or 0.76 points to trade at 58.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 1.26% or 1.75 points to end at 140.10 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 0.92% or 3.90 points to 425.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 3.48% or 1.24 points to trade at 34.31 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 2.99% or 1.66 points to end at 53.84 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was down 1.90% or 0.36 points to 18.53.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Wendel (EPA:MWDP) which rose 2.91% to 76.00, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was up 1.61% to settle at 27.74 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) which gained 1.32% to close at 58.19.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 14.94% to 0.34 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 12.06% to settle at 2.46 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 6.23% to 2.14 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 325 to 180 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) fell to all time lows; falling 12.06% or 0.34 to 2.46.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.15% or 22.80 to $2,003.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.67% or 0.52 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.48 to trade at $81.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 103.37.
