The S&P 500 gained 0.07%.The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite added 0.22%.
The dollar index was up 0.33% as it rebounded from one-month lows the previous session.
Oil fell over 1% with U.S. supply expected to rise this year.
(NYSE:Goldman Sachs) shares were up 0.11% at $236.01 as Q4 earnings beat estimates.
(NYSE:Citi) shares were lower despite earnings also beating forecasts.
