The S&P 500 shed.0.04%.The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite lost 0.04%.
Earnings so far have been positive with a majority of S&P 500 companies beating estimates.
Initial jobless claims rose more than expected. New home sales fell more than forecast.
The dollar index bounced off seven-week lows as oil rose over 2%.
