Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower early Tuesday after a Fed member sees short-term rate hike possible.
FOMC member William Dudley said a September rate hike was “possible” depending on data.
The DJIwas down 0.17% at 10:15 ET, while the S&P 500 declined 0.26%.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite fell 0.30%.
The market also took a breather after the record highs posted Monday.
Housing starts rose 2.1% in July when they were forecast to fall.
