Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Leasing & Factoring and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.91%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kerevitas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KERVT), which rose 4.28% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.95 at the close. Meanwhile, BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS (IS:BIMAS) added 3.59% or 3.05 points to end at 88.00 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) was up 2.98% or 0.170 points to 5.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which fell 8.37% or 0.890 points to trade at 9.740 at the close. MLP Saglik Hizmetleri AS (IS:MPARK) declined 5.97% or 0.64 points to end at 10.08 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) was down 5.75% or 0.290 points to 4.750.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 312 to 65 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.98% or 0.170 to 5.880.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.09% or 1.25 to $1398.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $57.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.14 to trade at $64.25 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.29% to 5.7190, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 6.4108.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 97.085.
