Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Transport and Tourism sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.40%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which rose 4.54% or 2.65 points to trade at 61.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes Biracilik ve Malt Sanayi AS (IS:AEFES) added 4.10% or 7.50 points to end at 190.50 and Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL) was up 2.03% or 1.50 points to 75.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which fell 4.92% or 0.77 points to trade at 14.87 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) declined 3.88% or 0.19 points to end at 4.71 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was down 3.83% or 0.82 points to 20.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 475 to 94 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.07% or 29.55 to $2,730.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.16% or 0.83 to hit $70.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.16% or 0.88 to trade at $75.16 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 34.30, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 37.02.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 104.27.
