Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Leasing & Factoring and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.32% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM), which rose 6.42% or 0.26 points to trade at 4.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Albaraka Turk Katilim Bankasi AS (IS:ALBRK) added 6.06% or 0.080 points to end at 1.400 and Dogtas Kelebek Mobilya Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:DGKLB) was up 5.00% or 0.050 points to 1.050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE), which fell 8.82% or 0.320 points to trade at 3.310 at the close. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.35% or 0.020 points to end at 0.440 and Turkish Airlines (IS:THYAO) was down 4.14% or 0.560 points to 12.960.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 196 to 152 and 58 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.25% or 3.15 to $1282.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.90% or 0.55 to hit $61.95 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.37 to trade at $70.25 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.64% to 6.1897, while EUR/TRY rose 0.81% to 6.9376.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 97.268.
