Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Textile & Leather and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which rose 5.70% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.040 at the close. Meanwhile, ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 3.72% or 0.250 points to end at 6.970 and Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) was up 3.62% or 0.160 points to 4.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM), which fell 5.42% or 0.450 points to trade at 7.860 at the close. Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) declined 5.28% or 0.850 points to end at 15.250 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) was down 4.04% or 1.120 points to 26.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 247 to 111 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.72% or 0.250 to 6.970. Shares in Aksa Enerji Uretim AS (IS:AKSEN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.62% or 0.160 to 4.580.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.42% or 5.50 to $1319.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.49% or 0.31 to hit $63.27 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.14 to trade at $68.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.85% to 3.8006, while EUR/TRY rose 1.21% to 4.5546.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 91.89.
