Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Technology and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which rose 10.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Meanwhile, Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) added 4.47% or 0.190 points to end at 4.440 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) was up 3.38% or 1.90 points to 58.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which fell 10.11% or 0.560 points to trade at 4.980 at the close. Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS) declined 4.38% or 0.66 points to end at 14.42 and Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) was down 3.05% or 0.040 points to 1.270.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 205 to 145 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.38% or 0.66 to 14.42.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.27% or 3.45 to $1259.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.30% or 1.59 to hit $46.58 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.83% or 1.62 to trade at $55.62 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.43% to 5.2635, while EUR/TRY fell 0.02% to 6.0164.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 96.162.
