Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Transport and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which rose 6.19% or 6.00 points to trade at 103.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gersan Elektrik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:GEREL) added 3.24% or 0.060 points to end at 1.910 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) was up 2.80% or 0.150 points to 5.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trakya Cam Sanayi AS (IS:TRKCM), which fell 2.95% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.960 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) declined 2.76% or 0.04 points to end at 1.41 and Turkish Airlines (IS:THYAO) was down 2.35% or 0.300 points to 12.470.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 206 to 138 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.80% or 0.150 to 5.500.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 1.95 to $1416.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.82% or 1.63 to hit $59.46 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.15% or 1.38 to trade at $65.66 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.32% to 5.7755, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 6.5754.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 95.597.
