Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 6.34% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.530 at the close. Meanwhile, Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) added 3.88% or 0.270 points to end at 7.230 and Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) was up 3.23% or 1.04 points to 33.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO), which fell 3.13% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.34 at the close. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) declined 3.07% or 0.22 points to end at 6.95 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) was down 3.06% or 0.14 points to 4.43.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 242 to 90 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.34% or 0.270 to 4.530. Shares in Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.06% or 0.14 to 4.43.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.35 to $1224.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.59% or 0.27 to hit $46.08 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.19 to trade at $47.14 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.96% to 3.3214, while EUR/TRY rose 0.52% to 3.5444.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 100.58.
