Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Electricity and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.01%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which rose 12.63% or 0.250 points to trade at 2.230 at the close. Meanwhile, SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) added 8.71% or 1.010 points to end at 12.610 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) was up 5.95% or 0.870 points to 15.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which fell 2.65% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.100 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) declined 2.31% or 0.52 points to end at 22.02 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) was down 1.85% or 0.010 points to 0.530.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 242 to 108 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.63% or 0.250 to 2.230.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.01% or 0.20 to $1334.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.56% or 0.36 to hit $63.94 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.89 to trade at $69.37 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.02% to 3.8003, while EUR/TRY fell 0.20% to 4.6504.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 90.38.
