Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Basic Metals and Sports sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS), which rose 5.78% or 1.680 points to trade at 30.760 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) added 5.25% or 0.210 points to end at 4.210 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) was up 4.56% or 0.580 points to 13.310 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN), which fell 1.61% or 0.120 points to trade at 7.320 at the close. GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO) declined 1.52% or 0.010 points to end at 0.650 and Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) was down 1.51% or 0.380 points to 24.820.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 254 to 91 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.56% or 0.580 to 13.310.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.89% or 11.30 to $1254.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.93% or 0.52 to hit $56.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.72 to trade at $61.94 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.28% to 3.8611, while EUR/TRY rose 0.28% to 4.5560.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.67.
