Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Insurance and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.13% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which rose 6.84% or 0.760 points to trade at 11.870 at the close. Meanwhile, Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) added 4.68% or 0.140 points to end at 3.130 and Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi AS (IS:PGSUS) was up 3.31% or 1.060 points to 33.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which fell 5.68% or 1.84 points to trade at 30.58 at the close. Kiler Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:KLGYO) declined 3.17% or 0.120 points to end at 3.660 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) was down 3.04% or 0.170 points to 5.420.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 194 to 154 and 56 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.26% or 3.30 to $1290.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.70% or 0.42 to hit $59.55 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.54 to trade at $65.92 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.16% to 3.8152, while EUR/TRY rose 0.52% to 4.5413.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 92.59.
