Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index fell 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Aeroflot PJSC (MCX:AFLT), which rose 2.40% or 1.35 points to trade at 57.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM) added 1.01% or 0.06 points to end at 6.39 and VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO) was up 1.00% or 3.40 points to 343.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS), which fell 3.73% or 2.02 points to trade at 52.13 at the close. Novolipetsk Steel (MCX:NLMK) declined 2.15% or 2.88 points to end at 130.96 and FGK Rusgidro PAO (MCX:HYDR) was down 2.00% or 0.01 points to 0.52.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 159 to 83 and 11 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 5.41% to 26.48.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.07% or 28.90 to $2,736.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.88% or 1.33 to hit $69.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.64% or 1.22 to trade at $73.23 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 2.20% to 95.26, while EUR/RUB fell 1.88% to 103.52.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 103.30.
