Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL), which rose 2.04% or 106.5 points to trade at 5320.0 at the close. Meanwhile, PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) added 2.02% or 50.0 points to end at 2521.0 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was up 2.02% or 0.1450 points to 7.3300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sberbank Rossii PAO (MCX:SBER), which fell 4.43% or 9.47 points to trade at 204.43 at the close. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 3.90% or 0.382 points to end at 9.418 and Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) was down 3.37% or 6.17 points to 176.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 161 to 61 and 19 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.49% to 25.470.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.10% or 1.25 to $1313.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $53.85 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.37 to trade at $63.98 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.92% to 67.1223, while EUR/RUB rose 0.96% to 75.6516.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 97.005.
