Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 2.30% or 13.5 points to trade at 600.0 at the close. Meanwhile, NMTP (MCX:NMTP) added 2.23% or 0.1400 points to end at 6.4100 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 1.82% or 10.00 points to 558.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which fell 4.33% or 76.5 points to trade at 1691.5 at the close. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 3.25% or 0.1425 points to end at 4.2400 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) was down 2.80% or 0.0049 points to 0.1686.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 129 to 88 and 21 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.90% to 23.750.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.45% or 5.50 to $1229.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $68.27 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.21 to trade at $72.79 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.15% to 63.5680, while EUR/RUB rose 0.33% to 74.3900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 94.39.
