Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 5.25% or 20.90 points to trade at 418.70 at the close. Meanwhile, NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) added 3.07% or 18.0 points to end at 603.5 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was up 2.20% or 0.655 points to 30.470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which fell 3.58% or 187.0 points to trade at 5032.0 at the close. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) declined 2.83% or 4.26 points to end at 146.14 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 2.64% or 65.0 points to 2400.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 133 to 73 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Magnit (MCX:MGNT) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.58% or 187.0 to 5032.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.03% to 18.260.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.04% or 14.00 to $1333.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.55% or 1.02 to hit $64.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.15% or 1.50 to trade at $68.15 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.86% to 56.3963, while EUR/RUB rose 0.34% to 70.2250.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.66% at 89.06.
