Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which rose 2.77% or 29.30 points to trade at 1087.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) added 2.03% or 0.0800 points to end at 4.0300 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) was up 1.89% or 3.04 points to 164.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which fell 4.63% or 26.2 points to trade at 540.2 at the close. NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) declined 4.29% or 19.90 points to end at 443.60 and Lukoil (MCX:LKOH) was down 3.30% or 169.5 points to 4959.5.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 115 to 98 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.29% to 30.860.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.50 to $1203.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.44% or 2.66 to hit $57.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.36% or 3.06 to trade at $67.06 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.05% to 67.8781, while EUR/RUB rose 0.47% to 76.5809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 96.99.
