Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY), which rose 2.09% or 1.90 points to trade at 93.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 2.07% or 2.90 points to end at 143.05 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was up 1.77% or 0.1150 points to 6.6000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which fell 4.12% or 69.5 points to trade at 1617.5 at the close. NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) declined 3.33% or 22.0 points to end at 638.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was down 2.26% or 0.205 points to 8.875.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 81 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) fell to all time lows; down 4.12% or 69.5 to 1617.5.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 4.97% to 22.380.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.09% or 13.50 to $1255.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.34% or 0.25 to hit $73.69 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.10 to trade at $77.20 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.29% to 63.2473, while EUR/RUB fell 0.22% to 73.6650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 94.43.
