Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Power and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 3.31% or 3.70 points to trade at 115.50 at the close. Meanwhile, NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) added 2.38% or 12.8 points to end at 549.8 and NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) was up 1.93% or 11.6 points to 612.6 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which fell 20.61% or 138.90 points to trade at 535.10 at the close. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 3.80% or 5750 points to end at 145650 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) was down 3.18% or 25.0 points to 760.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 132 to 75 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.80% or 5750 to 145650.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 3.06% to 26.930.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.58% or 7.00 to $1204.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.62% or 0.43 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.37 to trade at $77.83 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.44% to 68.2392, while EUR/RUB fell 0.10% to 79.5000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 94.72.
