Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which rose 2.85% or 22.90 points to trade at 825.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) added 2.36% or 2.20 points to end at 95.30 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 1.90% or 12.60 points to 675.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which fell 3.92% or 75.0 points to trade at 1840.0 at the close. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 2.28% or 13.10 points to end at 561.90 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was down 1.89% or 98.0 points to 5087.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 149 to 65 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) rose to all time highs; rising 2.85% or 22.90 to 825.40.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.58% to 25.830.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1302.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.49% or 1.69 to hit $66.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.35 to trade at $74.97 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.71% to 62.7435, while EUR/RUB rose 0.03% to 72.4735.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.75.
