Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.56% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 1.98% or 8.00 points to trade at 413.00 at the close. Meanwhile, NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) added 1.92% or 20.60 points to end at 1094.60 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was up 1.79% or 0.0680 points to 3.8635 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which fell 2.44% or 0.785 points to trade at 31.395 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 2.23% or 2.170 points to end at 95.100 and Unipro (MCX:UPRO) was down 1.84% or 0.0500 points to 2.6700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 141 to 82 and 18 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.14% to 22.570.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.40% or 18.45 to $1340.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.25% or 0.14 to hit $56.12 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.44 to trade at $66.06 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.53% to 65.9261, while EUR/RUB fell 0.37% to 74.7003.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 96.470.
