Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MMK (MCX:MAGN), which rose 2.81% or 1.240 points to trade at 45.445 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 2.53% or 3.40 points to end at 137.60 and Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTADR) was up 2.45% or 10 points to 398 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which fell 6.93% or 384.0 points to trade at 5155.0 at the close. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 2.68% or 4.00 points to end at 145.20 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was down 2.58% or 0.2300 points to 8.7000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 119 to 86 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Magnit (MCX:MGNT) fell to 5-year lows; falling 6.93% or 384.0 to 5155.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.58% to 18.970.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.01% or 13.60 to $1338.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.13% or 0.75 to hit $65.39 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.51% or 1.06 to trade at $69.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.17% to 56.3555, while EUR/RUB fell 0.31% to 69.5768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.59% at 89.39.
