Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were VTB (MCX:VTBR), which rose 2.89% or 0.0012 points to trade at 0.0425 at the close. Meanwhile, Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 2.67% or 102.5 points to end at 3935.0 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was up 2.56% or 0.2050 points to 8.2200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTS (MCX:MTSS), which fell 5.74% or 16.35 points to trade at 268.60 at the close. RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) declined 4.79% or 0.0298 points to end at 0.5917 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 4.21% or 0.0569 points to 1.2933.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 133 to 100 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in NMTP (MCX:NMTP) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.56% or 0.2050 to 8.2200.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.81% to 19.580.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.07% or 1.05 to $1399.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.56% or 0.32 to hit $57.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.29 to trade at $64.52 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.30% to 63.6251, while EUR/RUB fell 0.46% to 71.3400.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.958.
