Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 5.65% or 0.3650 points to trade at 6.8200 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 2.28% or 49.50 points to end at 2220.00 and AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) was up 2.18% or 3600 points to 169100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which fell 5.01% or 189.0 points to trade at 3582.0 at the close. NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) declined 2.97% or 35.00 points to end at 1145.00 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was down 2.29% or 60.0 points to 2555.0.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 106 to 95 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Magnit (MCX:MGNT) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.01% or 189.0 to 3582.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.47% to 28.850.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 3.20 to $1191.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.66% or 0.49 to hit $74.78 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.93% or 0.78 to trade at $84.69 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.24% to 66.4109, while EUR/RUB fell 0.32% to 76.2550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 95.42.
