Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 3.92% or 4.30 points to trade at 113.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) added 2.47% or 1.72 points to end at 71.42 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was up 2.11% or 0.1350 points to 6.5350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which fell 2.76% or 11.50 points to trade at 405.50 at the close. Magnit (MCX:MGNT) declined 1.41% or 68.0 points to end at 4750.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was down 1.38% or 0.380 points to 27.060.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 97 to 91 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 2.64% to 25.460.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.14% or 1.80 to $1304.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.52% or 0.34 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $76.43 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.51% to 62.8353, while EUR/RUB rose 0.53% to 74.0545.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.58.
