Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 3.23% or 0.2050 points to trade at 6.5600 at the close. Meanwhile, MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 2.29% or 11.40 points to end at 509.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.94% or 20.90 points to 1100.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which fell 2.95% or 17.6 points to trade at 579.4 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 2.78% or 0.0194 points to end at 0.6774 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) was down 2.52% or 10.40 points to 402.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 117 to 78 and 30 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.99% to 25.990.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.75% or 9.00 to $1197.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $69.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $78.17 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.10% to 68.0511, while EUR/RUB fell 0.48% to 78.7652.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 95.44.
