Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK), which rose 1.02% or 0.56 points to trade at 55.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 0.75% or 18.00 points to end at 2428.00 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 0.74% or 26.5 points to 3585.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which fell 3.68% or 18.0 points to trade at 470.6 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) declined 3.17% or 2.380 points to end at 72.730 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was down 2.72% or 1.090 points to 39.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 155 to 70 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.17% or 2.380 to 72.730. Shares in MMK (MCX:MAGN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.72% or 1.090 to 39.000.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 61.06% to 5.420 a new all time low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 4.15 to $1513.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.06% or 2.23 to hit $57.16 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 4.87% or 2.85 to trade at $61.42 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.83% to 64.8675, while EUR/RUB fell 1.13% to 72.5185.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 97.595.
