Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were MVideo (MCX:MVID), which rose 4.91% or 20.90 points to trade at 446.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) added 3.41% or 27.50 points to end at 832.80 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 2.25% or 152.5 points to 6944.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PIK (MCX:PIKK), which fell 2.22% or 8.80 points to trade at 388.40 at the close. VTB (MCX:VTBR) declined 1.80% or 0.0008 points to end at 0.0408 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) was down 1.77% or 7.0 points to 387.7.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 132 to 101 and 7 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 7.86% to 20.640.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.22% or 33.00 to $1517.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 4.53% or 2.43 to hit $51.20 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 4.29% or 2.53 to trade at $56.41 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.49% to 65.5953, while EUR/RUB rose 0.71% to 73.6369.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 97.243.
