Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 4.66% or 24.6 points to trade at 552.2 at the close. Meanwhile, MVideo (MCX:MVID) added 3.95% or 15.90 points to end at 418.20 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was up 3.21% or 0.1275 points to 4.0950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK), which fell 5.82% or 3.40 points to trade at 55.05 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 5.56% or 0.0430 points to end at 0.7300 and RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) was down 3.87% or 0.0203 points to 0.5046.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 122 to 87 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.82% or 3.40 to 55.05. Shares in RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.87% or 0.0203 to 0.5046.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.42% to 27.120.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.36% or 4.40 to $1226.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.30% or 0.67 to hit $50.78 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.34% or 0.80 to trade at $59.11 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.33% to 67.0909, while EUR/RUB rose 0.71% to 75.9577.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 97.085.
