Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which rose 5.95% or 0.2655 points to trade at 4.7300 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 2.79% or 2.72 points to end at 100.38 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 2.47% or 90.0 points to 3740.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF), which fell 5.48% or 61.40 points to trade at 1059.60 at the close. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 3.42% or 0.0489 points to end at 1.3805 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was down 2.12% or 121.0 points to 5600.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 121 to 96 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) rose to 5-year highs; up 5.95% or 0.2655 to 4.7300.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 3.45% to 20.960.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.05 to $1343.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.50% or 0.26 to hit $52.25 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.60 to trade at $61.41 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.27% to 64.2173, while EUR/RUB fell 0.08% to 72.1138.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 96.972.
