Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 2.73% or 4.30 points to trade at 162.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 2.50% or 56.20 points to end at 2303.60 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.67% or 18.00 points to 1094.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL), which fell 4.83% or 258.5 points to trade at 5092.0 at the close. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 3.37% or 25.50 points to end at 731.10 and MMC Norilsk Nickel (MCX:GMKN) was down 2.17% or 306.0 points to 13794.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 120 to 114 and 13 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.11% to 23.210.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.85% or 11.05 to $1288.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.20% or 0.67 to hit $56.47 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.65 to trade at $65.72 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.36% to 65.6983, while EUR/RUB fell 0.69% to 74.3736.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 96.667.
