Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Mining and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were VTB (MCX:VTBR), which rose 4.09% or 0.0015 points to trade at 0.0387 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 3.71% or 0.0458 points to end at 1.2800 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) was up 3.16% or 0.1245 points to 4.0595 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN), which fell 2.02% or 8.80 points to trade at 426.20 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 1.92% or 11.60 points to end at 591.50 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was down 1.46% or 11.20 points to 755.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 113 to 107 and 22 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.63% to 23.520.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.32% or 4.25 to $1332.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.87% or 2.07 to hit $51.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.57% or 1.59 to trade at $60.38 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.12% to 65.2375, while EUR/RUB fell 0.05% to 73.2830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 97.192.
