Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Power, Mining and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 3.45% or 0.300 points to trade at 9.000 at the close. Meanwhile, United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) added 1.53% or 0.430 points to end at 28.490 and Surgutneftegaz PAO (MCX:SNGS) was up 1.37% or 0.375 points to 27.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which fell 3.00% or 44.5 points to trade at 1437.0 at the close. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 2.56% or 0.0043 points to end at 0.1618 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was down 2.05% or 1.070 points to 51.115.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 114 to 100 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR) fell to all time lows; losing 3.00% or 44.5 to 1437.0.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.36% to 25.420.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.60 to $1193.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.98% or 1.45 to hit $74.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.90% or 1.57 to trade at $84.30 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.41% to 65.2808, while EUR/RUB fell 0.72% to 75.5418.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 94.94.
