Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.09%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 4.87% or 3.00 points to trade at 64.60 at the close. Meanwhile, AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) added 2.95% or 4300 points to end at 150300 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 2.82% or 205.0 points to 7485.0 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Lukoil (MCX:LKOH), which fell 1.32% or 68.5 points to trade at 5115.0 at the close. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) declined 1.31% or 0.345 points to end at 26.070 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was down 1.11% or 0.0900 points to 7.9900.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 120 to 97 and 21 ended unchanged.

Shares in Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) rose to all time highs; rising 2.82% or 205.0 to 7485.0.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.98% to 21.550.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 1.05 to $1538.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.61% or 0.33 to hit $53.84 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.75% or 0.44 to trade at $58.36 a barrel.

USD/RUB was up 0.06% to 66.0375, while EUR/RUB fell 0.26% to 73.3500.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 97.903.
